Oliver and the little grey mouse Charlie are very best of friends, and Blind Benny the cat is their worst enemy. That is why they moved out of Grandma Molly's house. They found a secret place in the forest nearby, and built their own safe and sound, snug little house there.
"Oliver, Oliver - have you heard?" shrieked Charlie. "Heard what?" said Oliver.
"All the animals in the forest are invited, except us!" squeaked Charlie, stamping his paws angrily. "There's going to be a big forest party and we're not welcome!"
"Charlie, I've got a great plan!" squeaked Oliver. "We're going to throw our own party - a mouse party!"
