The Princess Casamassima is a novel by Henry James that was first published in 1886. It is the story of an intelligent but confused young, Hyacinth Robinson, a London bookbinder, that becomes involved in radical politics and a tragic terrorist assassination plot. Among the works by Henry James this might be the most unusual, for dealing with politically charged subjects, and is often paired with “The Bostonians”, another novel published in the same year also from Henry James, which is also concerned with political issues, but in a much less tragic manner.
