A chemical story
This story is a bit different from most of her works. Still, I wanted to try reading something outside my comfort zone. Please read the triggers carefully before reading this book.
Not in Love is a story about Rue Siebert. She works as a biotech at Kline. But then the company is taken over. The CEO, Eli Killgore, threatens to take away everything that all her colleagues and she have worked for.
Then Rue meets Eli for it. Her rule is that she does not date any person twice. No exceptions! That's what she thought at the time. But now?
My opinion:
It was a nice idea, though. A bold and daring attempt at something different from the scientific romance comedy books she has written before. Rue and Eli have more past and personal baggage. They are told than just the couple. The family, friends, and especially the past are touched upon more.
The book contains two perspectives. The funny thing is that Eli is written in the third person, and Rue is in the first person ( I form) . This allowed me to empathize more with Rue. You could feel, see, and think everything with Rue more than Eli. I did enjoy it. Only some scenes were more spice than her other books. Personally, I prefer it less. I recommend it to anyone who has read other works of hers. Do read triggers, and keep in mind that this contains more spice.
