A Fast Paced Fantasy Story with Nightmares, Dream Hoppers, Somnians and more

The world Bobby McLaughlin has created is fantastic. This book is fast paced and full of action. There’s no time to sit down and relax. You go from action packed scene to action packed scene, to fast paced conversations and events.

Conrad tries to save his sister, and find out the whereabouts of his dad. Sabrina, is the most wanted Nightmare, but ultimately wants her freedom. Nickel wants the bounty of a lifetime, by capturing the Nightmare Sabrina. Nightmares, Dream Hoppers, Somnians, Fallowmares, etc are constantly battling, which creates a world full of chaos.

Reading this book was a thrilling ride, which I loved and enjoyed. The book sucks you in from the first page to the last. However, I would have loved to have a map provided, on which the world is laid out. And some more in depth descriptions of the roles of characters, the creatures in the world and the settings. You’re dropped in the middle of the story, without much background and context, and have to figure out how this world connects, while the story propels on in a fast paced way.

I’m looking forward to book 2. The story is creative and unique and I definitely want to read how the story continues for Conrad, Nickel and Sabrina.
