Modern vampire action and romance in Paris

Part 2 of the 7 deadly veils series by Diana Marik, Veil of Mists, did not disappoint. With each book I read, I’m loving the series, its main characters, and the world the writer is building more and more. If you haven’t read part 1 and 1.5 yet, there can be minor spoilers in my review. I love the developing relationship between Remare and Miranda. This relationship, the spice between them, is one of the reasons I want to read the whole series. But that’s not the only reason I loved Veil of Mists so much. There are more characters I like, such as Orion, Bastien and Lizandra. The world building is also spot on, how the weres and the vampire communities work and fit into the human world. I loved that it was set in Paris. The intrigues, tension, action and suspense in the story made it gripping and I went through the book in a couple of days. We get to know more about Valadon’s and Remare’s past. I’m on to reading part 3 of the series, because I can’t wait to read more about this universe.
