Epic life story spanning 100 years

An epic story of the live of Violeta del Valle. She’s born in 1920, her life spans 100 years. Through a letter Violeta is writing, we hear about her life, which is full of remarkable events; such as 2 pandemics, the Great Depression, the rise and fall of tirants, the fight for women’s rights. We hear about her lovers, her children, her successes and low points.

The story was captivating from beginning to end. I loved reading about the protagonist life story, Violeta has an interesting and I find fascinating life. Chile is nowhere mentioned by name, however it was clear to me that this was the country were the story is situated. The events and the masterful characterization is what makes this story engaging the whole story long.
