This book is on fire!
Wow! What an engaging, heartfelt, and beautifully written story to conclude Saskia M.N Oudshoorn’s Food Truck series blogtour. I didn’t think it could get any better than parts one and two, but somehow, it did! Saskia is such a skilled storyteller.
One of the things that makes this book stand out is its dual POV, giving us insight into both Sanne and Marnixs perspectives. Their characters are complex, shaped by past traumas, and their journey together is anything but conventional. The way they meet is unexpected—Sanne is actually in a relationship with Marnixs brother, Rowen. Yet, from the very start, the attraction between them is undeniable.
What I truly admire about Saskia’s writing is how she crafts such rich, fully realized characters while tackling deep themes like body positivity, grief, and the aftermath of difficult relationships and trauma. Despite these heavy topics, the book remains a joy to read—filled with lighthearted moments, laughter, and yes, even a few tears.
Beyond the romance, I adored the sense of community in this book. The friendships, family bonds, and charming side characters (hello, little girl next door, adorable piggies, and Dutch the Jack Russell!) made the story even more immersive. And you don’t need to imagine the vibrant setting of the food truck and festival scene because Saskia brings it to life beautifully.
In case it wasn’t obvious yet, I absolutely loved the characters—their quirks, witty remarks, and the warmth that radiates from every page. From start to finish, this book had it all: humor, tension, love, and an emotional rollercoaster that kept me hooked.
I could say so much more, but honestly, you just need to experience it for yourself. This is a true five-star read!
