The Elf Witch by Jacquelyn Gilmore is an immersive start to The Plot of the Six Saints series.
With some books, I know very quickly how many stars I want to give this one, with others it's still a bit of a balancing act. Especially if it is the first book in a series.
The Elf Witch is a world full of magic, witches, elves and conspiracy theories, making it a book full of potential! The magic system is different from your average fantasy and the circumstances are therefore a more than welcome refreshment.
It is a slow burn romance but without the romance becoming too overpowering over the political system and relationships between the characters! Especially in that you don't have a heroine who wants to save the world but mostly wants to put herself on the map and will do anything to take control of her own destiny. But whether that will be so easy?
