Mini trip to Champagne in France
When I read the email from Chloe, I had to look closely, is this really a volume in the Romantic Escapes series? The front cover is so different from the previous 9 volumes.
As should be obvious, it is set in a castle in France, in the Champagne region.
This book stars Hattie, who we already know from the book about Ireland. But Fliss also comes along in this book, she starred in the same book.
Hattie has been asked by her uncle to act as a wedding planner to arrange the wedding of his daughter, her niece Gabby, at the castle. Luc, who has recently moved into his father's castle was unaware of this but is quickly content to do so, anything that can make the castle money is fine by him as he would like to make champagne again like his great-aunt once did.
The housekeeper trains things, but this is for another reason. Her daughter is also getting married and would like to do so in the chateau's vineyard, but two weddings at once is that possible? Hattie works a lot with Luc and they start a holiday fling. They visit local markets and also go on trips together. During a trip of them together to Paris, Nina from the little patisserie in Paris also drops by, very nice to give older protagonists a role in the book in this way.
After Fliss arrives at the chateau to help with the cooking, the dynamics between the residents change again. All sorts of delicious things happen again, so it was great to enjoy this mini holiday to France!
