Undever Barista
Grounds for Romance by Mel Walker has a really cute and an unusual plot, a plot I have not come across in books I have read: actor Devon goes undercover at a Coffee Loft Shop to score a role as a bumbling Barista in a very desirable movie. One thing he had not thought of before when he meets designer Zara, who is a regular customer at the coffee shop and who he can’t stop thinking about. But his secret cannot come out.
This book was such a sweet and relaxing read. I enjoyed reading it from the very first. Devon is a great and charming guy, and he does his best to make things go wrong and somehow that is endearing. This is exactly what Zara thinks as well. They have a good chemistry and their building whirlwind relationship is rather sweet. As Zara is in a design competition, Devon is roped in to be a model, but then things go sour. Thankfully Devon stepped up and the scene that followed (you just have to read the book) is so good.
The writing style is flowing, the book is easy to read, and thanks to the dual POV, the plot and story-line I kept on reading. I was wondering while reading the book why Zara and all the regular costumers kept coming to the Coffee Shop (the coffee Devon made was not very good), but near the end there was a very satisfying and unexpected answer to this question.
Grounds for Romance is a great addition to a wonderful cozy romance series, with a good plot, two very likable characters, with humour, some drama and a great ending. I loved reading this book a lot. Recommended for those readers who want to read a lovely cozy romance novel.
