Let me start off with telling off anyone who might want to give me hatred for even posting about these books. I read what I read. I do me, you do you. I am not here to discuss banning books or authors because of who they do or don't support or what their perspectives on things are. For me, Harry Potter has been a part of my life (Well, the movies) and I never got the chance to read the books, so here we are, reading al of them. The fact that I feel the need to defend myself or my choices, honestly feels awful, but here we are. Let's move on the book, the reason I am writing today.
I have watched the movies, so I knew what was coming. I didn't know however, the storyline would be so much more complicated. This is the book where I found out the movies left out A LOT. And it was like a deep dive from the third part, because the first 3 parts resembled the movies a lot more + the books were a lot shorter. I knew I loved, but hated this book. I love the complicated storylines, the plottwists and the heavy material. From this book onwards, the characters really grow up a lot and the things that happen in the book are not really meant for children anymore. Which means this is the book where, for me, the fun actually starts.
I loved part 1-3 because of the characters, the world-building and the funny vibe in these books. From part 4 on, the books are much more serious and, evidently, horrendous and emotional.
J.K. Rowling knows exactly what she's doing. She knows how to intrduce her characters, built a whole world beyond your imagination and create storylines so strong, it's honestly an art.
This book took me some time. I hard a very hard time getting throught it in the beginning, even getting in a slump because of the complicated storylines. But once I pursued, the story came to life and I read through it like a whirlwind. Emotional state all over the place, excited, scared, horrified.
What I did fine funny in this book is the theme prejudice comming forward multiple times. Considering what's been going on lately with Rowling, it's so weird how she knows exactly how Prejudice works and that it's sometimes bad, but at the sime time, in real life, she is not as openminded as in the book.
I loved the goblet of fire. And I am so excited to see what new information comes along in the next 3 books! I have so many questions still left unanswered and I also heard this book was the least good of all the books, but I was touched by this one, even shedding a tear here and there.. So if this is the worst one.. Then what is yet to come?
I rate Harry Potter & The goblet of fire 4,5 stars!
