Welcome, welcome to the Christmas themed book called Spectacular!

If you’re planning on reading this book for Scarlett and Julian, you’ll only get crumbs of them sadly. The book is heavily Tella focused.

Scarlett is planning a spectacular Holiday celebration for the city. Tella is searching for the perfect gift for Legend, even though he’s not fond of the holiday. Tella hopes that the perfect gift will change his mind. Unfortunately, she hasn’t found this perfect gift just yet. But it is Great Holiday Eve Eve. Anything can happen.

Spectacular was very unexpected for me. I had expected a cute holiday romance but the story turned out to be completely different than expected, which is usually the case for me when I read one of Stephanie’s books. Instead of fluff, this book is more heading towards dark romance with a hint of mystery. I liked revisiting the world of Caraval and find out how the characters are doing after the events of Finale. Sadly I had expected the book to be cuter than it turned out.

I do want to give Rosie Fowinkle a shoutout for those beautiful drawings. They really add a lot to the story!
