Lezersrecensie
I never felt so unemotional about a story. EVER.
Okay, so...
Don't tell me I'm the only one not liking this? Please?
I have been slowly getting into reading all the classics my teachers always encouraged me to read (which, I obviously never did back then...) & I must say, I'm fairly disappointed.
I heard people rave about this book. RAVE. I do not understand it whatsoever.
I browsed online to see what the fuss was all about. Apparently, not only is it one of the most well-known English works, it also was ahead of its time regarding the whole gothic novel/horror genre.
Safe to say, this book did almost nothing for me. It didn't scare me one bit. I wasn't shivering at any point in time & neither did I have nightmares after reading this. Basically, this whole novel left me indifferent.
What I will give Shelley credit for, is that certain elements in the story (regarding the murder trial, for example) were very interesting to read. Some rare moments I felt connected to the story.
So in short, do not read this book. But if you do, be prepared to be disappointed. I have never felt so unemotional about a story I read EVER.
