Lezersrecensie
Intruiging stories but not engaging enough
This book has an intriguing storyline & interesting characters, but it fel short in certain areas compared to other Asian literature I have read recently.
The writing itself is uneven, with some typos that are hard to ignore & the structure of just three veeeery long chapters in a book of only 197 pages seriously disrupted my reading experience.
Although the relationships between the characters feel natural & compelling, the studio and lantern— certainly thé key elements —seem brushed over in order to move rather quickly onto the visitors’ stories.
Despite the negatives, I enjoyed this story, so for fans of Asian literature with a certain depth to it, I would definitely recommend reading this one!
