Such a delight!
I couldn’t wait to read the story of my favorite character of the Veiled series: Z O E Y !
The way Eliza Modiste develops her tough ‘feminist’ character into someone vulnerable yet strong at the same time baffles me.
Everyone who has read the 1st book will agree that you DO NOT EVER mess with Zoey without her getting back at you for it. She’s the girl who’s always there to help a friend in need, but will never ask for help herself. She is one tough lady! The way she softens & opens up as the story goes along reminds me of a flower in bloom, slowly blossoming & showing off all of her beautiful petals for the world to see.
Furthermore, I liked this book a lot, even though the ending left me feeling spooky about what happened in the woods. A different kind of happy ending than I was expecting, but I’m relieved that everyone of the gang made it out okay.
Additionally, I do hope that James will find his happiness as well in the next book. I can definitely say that, after this story, he is my favorite male character. Not as “in your face” as Liam, but not as shy & whitdrawn as Luke either. He’s got the perfect balance to him & I hope we will get to know more about him later!
