My thoughts on the characters
I have to say that I don't like Fanny. She's almost too perfect, and certainly seems to be aware of that. Even though she is described as very nervous multiple times in the book, her morals seem to be so superior it's ridiculous. In that sense I get Julia much more: while not always making the best decisions, there are no great faults against her, except perhaps feeling too much. I obviously also wasn't a fault of Maria. I did like Henry at first, and was almost hoping he and Fanny would marry, because I did think he was very persistent and genuine in his pursuit of Fanny. It's a shame his pride got in the way. Edmund I'm a bit indifferent of: he also seems to think he has superior morals, but goes about it in a much different way, or at least that's the way I perceived it. Either way, his continued affections of Mary bothered me a bit when she made it quite clear she wanted more money, and it's sad he couldn't have more self-worth. I would have liked to see more of the actual courting or marriage of Edmund: while it was clear for me this was always how the book was going to end, I would have liked to see more of it; we got like 200 pages of Henry pursuing Fanny and then 2 of Edmund falling in love with her.
