The End Crowns All
When Cassandra receives the gift of prophecy from Apollo, she eagerly accepts, but after failing to honor their deal, she’s cursed—no one believes her visions. Her prophecies focus on a single girl destined to start a war. Meanwhile, Helen has fled Sparta for love, only to face the treacherous politics of the Trojan court. A rival princess seeks to drive her out, but as war approaches, it becomes clear the real threat isn’t just the army at the gates. Cassandra and Helen may hold the key to changing fate, but how can they alter the future when the gods control their destiny?
The first part of the book is packed with events as the world of Cassandra and Helen unfolds, allowing you to get to know the characters along the way. The pacing here is smooth, and the story flows nicely.
In the second part, however, the pace slows down. This section has a lot of pages and information that can pull you out of the narrative at times. It loses some of its impact and drags a bit, and I found myself losing focus due to a lack of tension.
Fortunately, the final part of the story makes up for it. The pacing picks back up, and I was fully engaged, eager to see how the story would end.
Overall, I enjoyed the story. The author did a great job portraying the characters and added her own unique interpretations. If you're a fan of mythology, you’ll likely appreciate this retelling, especially with its fresh take from the women’s perspective.
