Artemis: Crime, Conspiracies, and Lunar Chaos
After enjoying The Martian, I was curious to see what Andy Weir would do next. Artemis turned out to be a fun and engaging listen. The audiobook kept me hooked with its mix of humor, plot twists, and interesting characters.
This time, instead of a stranded astronaut, we follow Jazz Bashara, a smuggler trying to get by in the first city on the Moon. She’s resourceful, sarcastic, and always in trouble, which made for an entertaining story. The world-building is solid, and Artemis feels like a believable lunar colony with its own economy, politics, and dangers. The stakes kept things moving, and the humor helped balance out the tension.
If you liked The Martian and enjoy stories with crime, problem-solving, and a fast pace, Artemis is worth checking out. It’s a different kind of story but still has Weir’s signature mix of science and fun.
