Galaxy in Flames – The Final Betrayal

After the buildup in Horus Rising and False Gods, I knew Galaxy in Flames was going to be intense but I wasn’t prepared for how devastating it would be. This book doesn’t just continue the story; it shatters everything that came before.

The events on Isstvan III are brutal. The betrayal that’s been creeping in the shadows finally explodes into full-scale slaughter, and it’s heartbreaking to witness. Loken, Torgaddon, and the rest of the loyalists never stood a chance, but that doesn’t make their fight any less heroic. Watching them realize the truth about Horus, and then choosing to stand their ground anyway, was both inspiring and gut-wrenching.

The action is relentless, but what makes it hit even harder is the emotional weight behind it. The bonds between the characters, their refusal to surrender, and the sheer hopelessness of their situation make this book feel like the tragic end of an era. Even though I knew what was coming, it still hurt.

By the time the last pages rolled around, I just felt… sad. The galaxy has truly fallen into flames, and there’s no going back. Galaxy in Flames is an incredible but devastating read one that cements the Horus Heresy as a legendary tragedy.
