The Flight of the Eisenstein – A Desperate Escape
After the devastation of Galaxy in Flames, this book takes a different approach. Instead of focusing on the fall of the loyalists, The Flight of the Eisenstein follows those who manage to escape. And at the center of it all is Nathaniel Garro.
Garro’s journey was easily my favorite part. He’s not just surviving, he’s figuring out what it really means to be loyal. His doubts, his choices, and the way he pushes forward despite everything made him a great character to follow. Then there’s everything that happens in the Warp... yeah, that was pure nightmare fuel.
And the moon. I won’t spoil it, but that whole sequence was intense. But what really hit me was Rogal Dorn’s reaction to Horus’ betrayal. The disbelief, the sheer rage, it’s one of the strongest moments in the book.
This one feels different from the first three. Less large-scale war, more survival and tension. But it works. It’s the perfect transition from the opening trilogy into the larger war ahead. Now that the warning has been sent, I can’t wait to see what happens next.
