Darell gets more mature but brings her younger sister to Malory
Darrell and Alicia bring respectively their sister and niece for the first time to Malory Towers. This allows Enid Blyton to concentrate on the more mature lifestyle of the older girls but still to throw in pranks and little girls peeves in the mix.
Malory Towers hasn't changed so nothing new on that level and not much change at the teachers though we again get to know both the school and the teachers even better than before.
As usual there are a few new girls - twins this time - to bring in a new perspective to the story.
Enid Blyton has not problem making the girls develop new animosities and friendships and have some plots relived by other characters. It is amazing how she hardly ever repeats herself although a lot of the content like the praise of the school, the meals, the discipline, going for or just avoiding sports is basically the same. At least one big dramatic event will take place and at least one girl will be falsely accused and rehabilitated.
For at least four generations now the books by Enid Blyton are printed and read with delight. Rightly so.
