Lezersrecensie
This keeps getting better
I will say... These books are growong on me faster than I thought they would... I did watch the movies but I always gave up reading the books after the first part because it just didn't get to me... Samenlezenwe decided to read the series again last year and so I gave the books another chance.. I read book 1, which, somehow, was better than I thought previusly. Then came book 2, which I loved. En here came book 3, 'The prisoner of Azkaban', the book I knew I would love because of the new characters coming forward in this book. I was so excited to start the next book in these series and I will say that it did not disappoint me at all.
First off, I want to mention I wanted to buy the Hufflepuff edition again, but then I found out they don't sell the books apart anymore and I do not have the funds to buy the whole set at once, for I have to save money for every book I buy. So I had to look for another edition and this one was one of the very few low-priced editions they still had online. I must admit that I love this cover!! The only problem is.. I don't love every cover from these editions so I need to figure out a way to make the series feel whole and good looking at once... yeah.. that's going to be hard.
Injoyed every part of this book. I watched the movies as I said before, but the books are growing on me because the provide so much more worldbuilding and information. I didn't feel like that in the first two books, but reading a long, I now feel like I really do have to read the books to get a full understanding of this world and the characters in it.
Rowling knows how to build her world. Evry book, she keeps adding bits and pieces of information, adding details you didn't even know you needed. Even er writing style is in line with the characters, which means it's very easy to picture every character, but also the world, in your head. Looks, voice, aura and all. I think it's amazing. Not a lot of authors are nearly as good at world- and character building as she is. You can't help but falling in love with this world and the characters in it. This book, I loved how Hermione grew and changed as a person, how Buckbeak came into the picture, how Sirius Black made his appearance and even the awful characters like Snape and Malfoy are slowly growing on me, even though the rumours that the book would make me like them more are still to be proven right.
The beginning of the story feels a bit slow, but at the same time also draws you into the story, just like the previous two books. And before you know it, your kneedeep into the story and can't put the book down.
It's so hard not to spoiler, but I am reckoning that the books will keep gtting better from here on out, even though this was already by far my favorite book of the three I now read. A lot keeps happening, but it all makes sense in the end, everything comes together every time. The only thing that might bother me a little is that Harry seems to get away with literally anything, just because he is Harry.
I am so curious for the coming books! I want to know more about Sirius, Remus, Dumbledore and even Snape.
I urge every single child to read these books. I didn't and I should have. I missed a lot. This is fantasy. Real Fantasy. So go and please read Harry Potter!
I rate 'Harry Potter & the prisoner of Azkaban' 5 stars!
